We had a great November, packed with friends' kids' and classmates' birthday parties, Thanksgiving break (Jeremy was out of school for the whole week!), a wonderful Thanksgiving Day, and the beginning of Christmas fun.
We're in a whole new world with friends' birthday parties, thanks to connections both at school (Jeremy's and Adam's!) and at church. We went to four kids' birthday parties in eight days!! It was a lot of fun, and we're enjoying lots of new friendships.
Thanksgiving break was filled with s'mores with Grandpa & Mawmaw (in lieu of a camping trip, which ended up not working out), lunch with Adam at his office, and a playdate with my college friends and their kiddos - all before Adam was free for the second half of the week. Thanksgiving Day was a wonderful one, with a slow start and then a bountiful lunch at my brother and sister-in-law's house in Denton. Here are a few highlights - be sure you check out the album on our Shutterfly site.

The next day we kicked off the Christmas season with our family tradition of going to the Walls Family Farm to cut down our Christmas tree! I didn't get many pictures this year (perhaps because a certain someone was in my arms), but we had a blast as usual. (See pictures here.) Then that Saturday we spent the afternoon at Holiday in the Park at Six Flags over Texas for some more holiday fun. We're enjoying maxing some playtime when Jeremy (and Adam) are out of school.
One of our new favorite holiday experiences is the Zoo Lights exhibit at the Dallas Zoo. This is the second year it's ever been open, and it's even better this year than last. If you're in town (anytime between now and January 1st!), you should definitely check it out - it's amazing! Very few animals are out, but the lights are spectacular, and this year they've added some silk animals lit from within and they're just gorgeous. Here are a few highlights, but be sure to check out the full album on our Shutterfly site.

Another favorite is the "12 Days of Christmas at Night" display at the Dallas Arboretum. Always fun... it's even better now that Jeremy knows the song and leads us from "day" to "day". It was fun to see Anson take it all in on his first visit. See the pictures here.
This past weekend we hosted our annual Holiday Open-House, which was a big success... and we even managed to get the kiddos to sleep without too much trouble, despite social goings on throughout the house. I never get any pictures at this event... That's my goal for next year!
Finally, Adam was in his first physical event in quite a while - he was part of a relay team from SMU Cox in the Dallas Marathon on Sunday. He felt really good, and it's been fun for him to get back into doing something physical with friends (and training buddies!).
Hope y'all are well, and that you're enjoying the holiday season. More soon!
