Gifts

We consider ourselves to have a very full life, full of all kinds of gifts. We have a large, loving family. We have great careers that we enjoy. We are generally healthy. We have big circles of friends. We have been able to travel and see many parts of the country and the world. We really have a very rich life.

In thinking about this and, believe it or not, while researching during wedding planning last year, I came across an idea that I really like. Instead of asking for specific "things" for Christmas, birthdays, and other gift-giving occasions, why not ask family and friends to give to those who have less than we do? Slipping into my not-so-recent "computer-nerd" mode, I decided I'd use this idea as an excuse to play with Google Sites - to see what it's all about, and maybe create a website to serve as a home-base for alternative gift ideas. So I created the Alternative Gifts for the Tunkses website.

Here you'll find Dallas-area social service providers we know and like, local Dallas businesses we'd like to support, a list of organizations (state-wide, national, and international) that we support, and some other gift ideas. Of course, we all like to get a new toy now and then... So there's also a link to our wedding registries, which are still active.
