The last couple of weeks have been great, but now the countdown is officially on... In 72 hours we should be in Guatemala!
Since I last posted, we've geared up our involvement in Agnes' care. Those who are facebookers have seen that I've been taking her to the pool for water aerobics (aka "yap and flap"), though the classes at 24 Hour Fitness - and my desire to get a good workout - keep us flapping more and yapping less!
Agnes and a couple of friends joined us at our house for wings, buffalo chicken dip, guacamole and beer during the Super Bowl. Thanks, Mike & James, for coming!
The next night we went to my parents' house for a birthday celebration honoring my mom (her birthday was Feb. 8th). Good food, great evening. Glad to celebrate with my folks and my brother.
Valentine's Day came a little early for us with dinner on the 13th at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - one of our favorites. A slowly-enjoyed, beautiful meal... It was a great evening. Then Adam surprised me with a box of chocolates and my traditional Valentine teddy bear when we got home Monday night. He even went with me to see Just Go With It -- not his type of movie... Such a wonderful husband I have... :-)
Another birthday shout-out to Suzie Sherard (her birthday was Feb. 15th)! Hope it was a great one!
This week is eating us up, preparing at our currently-chaotic jobs for being gone for a week, which is why I say the countdown is officially on... Saturday morning we'll volunteer with our Sea Scouts at our local Scouting For Food collection site, then will head to the airport! Can't wait to see Adam's folks and a bit of Guatemala!
Hope you are well.
