Happy New Year!

We hope that you and yours are already off to a great start to 2012.

Again, I'm hoping to get into a groove of regular blogging.  I had a thought this morning, while enjoying a day off before heading back to work tomorrow...  I was listening to a CD in the car, which sparked this thought: I used to send daily quotes to an email list when I was in high school - inspiring, touching or thought-provoking words to think about for the day.  When the song "Imagine", by John Lennon, came on my car stereo, I thought about posting videos, songs, quotes, or other inspiring pieces on the blog this year.  I'll do my best to incoporate these into my posts this year.

The CD that I was playing is disc two of the Glee albums.  For those who don't know, Glee is a TV show on Fox about a high school glee club, or show choir.  Here is their rendition of "Imagine":

A little context for this clip:
The New Directions (the kids not in uniform here) is the Glee Club of McKinley High.  The club is
not popular in the school, and the cheerleading coach is out to end the club (to feed her budget).
She has leaked the New Directions' set list for the sectionals competition to their two competitors,
one of which is the Haverbrook School for the Deaf (in uniforms here).
This inspiring scene shows these two choirs setting aside the competition to perform
a beautiful duet of John Lennon's "Imagine".
(PS - I went to high school with the guy in the vest, back row with a mohawk!)   :-)

As we start each new year, I tend to imagine what this world could be like...  This song inspired me, and I hope it does you, too.  Happy New Year!
