Six Weeks!

It's hard to believe that six weeks ago, we were eagerly awaiting our little boy, thinking he'd show up sometime in the next week or two... and then, SURPRISE!  Our boy decided he was ready to join us!  And we're so glad he did.

The last couple of weeks have been great ones... and busy ones, too.  We shared a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday week with lots of family: Thanksgiving Day at the Duffs' house with the Bryan family; the next day at my parents' house with my brother and his girlfriend, Abby; then that evening at Adam's folks' house for their annual Gumbo & Games.  (We learned that this was a bit too long of a day for the boy... he had a major meltdown at the end of G&G... It was a long night!)  Then that Sunday we had the first of several showers, this one with family.  It was so nice to have an evening celebrating Jeremy with family!

The next week (Dec. 2-8) was a big social week for Jeremy.  It started with Tom's birthday dinner, then his first Scout meeting.  Thursday was a big day, as Jeremy had an unexpected introduction to C. C. Young.  We ended up moving Adam's grandmother Agnes to CCY to ensure she has adequate care on Dec. 5th.  The transition went well, and everyone we saw at CCY was (of course) excited to meet our boy.

... Then the ice hit!  A big ice storm covered Dallas on Thursday night/Friday morning, and - as Dallas always does with any winter weather - the city shut down.  We enjoyed a cozy day at home with Adam, and then a cozy, quiet weekend at home as well.  We did venture out Sunday evening for Jeremy's first holiday party - with the Power Squadron!

This week Adam's been fighting the end of a cold, but we have had some holiday fun: I broke out the decorations, and last night we went shopping for Jeremy's first Christmas tree!

We're gearing up for a big weekend of more holiday fun: two parties (one of our own!), and another shower for Jeremy!  'Tis the season... and I love it!
