The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Whew!  It's been a month already!  And what a month it's been...

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, hosting for the first time!  We enjoyed a low-key evening at home with our housemate Jessica, her boyfriend and brother, and my mom. It was a wonderfully relaxed day full of cooking, games and a wonderful dinner. I particularly enjoyed pulling out our china - so fun!

 The following weekend we continued an annual family tradition: We went to Walls Family Farm to cut down our Christmas tree!  Tom & Jeanne were able to join us this year, so it was a family-filled day of fun.  It's always a great day - we ride on a trailer on hay bales to find the tree, cut it down, bring it back and enjoy hot chocolate and fresh sugar cookies while we wait for the tree to be shaken and prepped for the ride home.  It's a great day!

That Sunday we got to spend some time with Adam's aunt and uncle, Betty & Terry, and his cousin Michael and family, who are in town from Hawaii!  It's so fun to see the kids playing together more and more as they get older.  The game of choice at this visit was football - it was fun to watch Adam help the littles (Jeremy and Josie, both four) and Caleb and Danny (11 and 10, respectively) figure out how to play all together. Despite a cool evening, they had a blast - and Jeremy keeps asking to go play football with them again!  (Get ready, Tunks cousins - J's comin' for ya at Christmas!)

Since then, our time has been filled with lots of holiday fun!  We've been to SMU's Celebration of Lights tree-lighting evening, the Dallas Zoo's new Dallas Zoo Lights exhibit (a new favorite!), and the Dallas Arboretum's 12 Days of Christmas at Night exhibit; and we've hosted the Squadron's holiday dinner and our own holiday party!  Whew!  It's been lots of holiday fun, and it's especially exciting to watch Jeremy enjoy the anticipation of the season.

We also celebrated Tom's (and Betty's!) birthdays!  Always a fun evening...

All is well with me and Anson.  This week was a little nerve-wracking for me, as we learned at a sonogram last week (36 weeks+) that he was in a breech position.  However, we got the great news yesterday that he had decided to flip over on his own, so all is back on track to leave him be until he decides he's ready to make his appearance... at least, until December 29th, when we plan to get the ball rolling if he hasn't in hopes of being home and happy by the new year's countdown.  We're all super excited to meet this little guy!
