Here Comes the Last Week of October!!

Hard to believe it's almost November!! Where did this year go?!

Last week we, with CC (Corinne) and Mawmaw (Jeanne), enjoyed a personal tour of Jeremy's classroom at the school's Open House & Parent Appreciation Night. It was amazing and exciting to be literally dragged around the classroom as he was so excited to show us around, and how many of the "works" ... work.  :-)

Next Monday, the students at his school will participate in their annual Walkathon fundraiser. In the past, this event has served to raise funds for the school, but this year the board decided to shift the focus toward supporting a social justice organization.  For this year, they've selected the Catholic Charities Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, TX.  In the words of the school's director, "WRM's Board agreed that this focus is humanitarian and secular in nature and the choice of this focus is not partisan in any way. Instead, sending funds to this organization is meant to provide services that meet the basic tenants of human dignity for those who find themselves with this particular need." (My social worker heart loves this!)

The kids will walk on Monday, October 29th.  If you feel so inclined, feel free to donate to the cause - and be sure you credit Jeremy T. for your donation!  (https://whiterockmontessori.rallyup.com/wrm)

We're busy this week preparing for our Big Guy's FIFTH birthday next week!  We're excited to celebrate with a dinosaur-themed party this weekend with his classmates and a few other friends.  Then on his birthday there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony in his class, and then of course a birthday dinner and trick-or-treating!  Stay tuned for pictures and stories next week...  ;-)

PS - Texans, here's my little plug... be sure you get out and VOTE! (Early voting Oct. 22-Nov. 2 -- NOW!)  Anson and I hit the polls on Monday! :-)
