We enjoyed our time in Guatemala, and I miss it horribly every time I see a picture, either literally or in my mind. It was such an incredible week, a beautiful place... An unforgettable experience. If you ever get the chance to go, Antigua is a beautiful vacation spot.
March was busy:
The Ship is keeping us quite busy. We've added a third Sunday each month (until the summer) for classroom education; Adam and I have joined the Dallas Sail & Power Squadron, which is providing these first education sessions. We're also working with other organizations to help network our unit and expose our kids to more opportunities.
Adam's work has been keeping him busy, primarily due to their acquisition of a new property early this year. He now has a new title - he is Asset Manager at J Alexander Realty Group. I feel more comfortable in my job at CC Young now. A new bullet toward the bottom of my job description led me to purchase birds for two of our units. This inspired me to get my next pets: parakeets! I now have two parakeets:

Keeley means Beautiful in Gaelic; Lena means Bright in Greek
March also brought a couple more updates to the house: our very-tired (almost 20-year-old) A/C compressor prompted us to replace our HVAC system (compressor and interior unit). We're enjoying a digital thermostat and otherwise more efficient air control. We also had the outside of our house painted! We knew when we bought the house that the pink paint had to go at some point... Our neighbor's painter buddy was available, so we went ahead and did it. (If you need a painter, we know a great guy - did beautiful work and was very reasonably priced.) Pics:

The latest event has been my second annual One Day Without Shoes happy hour. TOMS Shoes promotes ODWS each year to increase awareness that many children have to walk to school and water without shoes every day. On ODWS supporters are encouraged to do something without shoes to spark curiosity and explain TOMS' One-for-One movement: for every item purchased from TOMS, they donate a new pair of shoes to a child who has none. Pretty cool. Thanks to those who came out to my happy hour this year: Adam, Doug and Ginger, my mom and dad, Kristin, and Burt and Margaret.
All in all, it's been a good month. :-) Hope you're well, too.
